Flymo set to launch the first ever indoor lawn range as new trend sweeps the nation

The UK’s leading lawnmower brand, Flymo, is set to launch indoor gardening product range to keep up with new demand.Indoor lawns are heading to the UK this summer, according to Flymo.

Flymo explained that in the fourth quarter of 2015 and Q1 of 2016 it saw a significant rise in queries for indoor approved gardening equipment. Today Flymo released the news that it is to launch the first ever indoor lawn range as statistics from its French headquarters forecast the new trend is set to take the UK by storm.

The new movement is said to have originated in suburban France with cities such as Paris, Marseille and Lyon being the early adopters. Described as an interior design trend popular among young adults aged 25-40 in France, the indoor lawn is currently for those with high disposable income and is a small organic space within a property which consumers can maintain, for a healthy, environmentally friendly living space.

Pierre Laurent Bernard, Trade Marketing Manager for Flymo France, explained: “It’s natural progression and something we’ve expected just perhaps a little sooner than first thought. The little room we have for gardening in some of our big cities has meant it was only a matter of time. While it may be seen as strange in some countries, we forecast this here in France. Switzerland has also seen an uptake similar to ours and we feel this summer indoor lawns will reach London. Based on our latest figures, by 2025 we expect 30% of France’s households to have an indoor lawn of some form, this is the way the world is moving.”

As the demand increases here in the UK, so too does the need for products to maintain lawns. Flymo is in the final stages of developing the world’s first indoor approved lawn product range, to be released next summer. While details are yet to be disclosed, the range will include lawn care products that are easier by design to use around the house and adaptable for rooms with more than one lawn and even. Flymo has been at the forefront of gardening technology since its beginning in the 1960’s and while it’s developing a range of indoor lawn products to roll out in 2017, the Flymo Robotic Lawnmower 1200 R is available now.

The Flymo Robotic Lawnmower 1200 R automatically cuts the lawn and is designed for easy installation. The 1200 R mows independently, returning to its charging station when in need of power. Regular mowing of the grass, means there is no need to dispose of clippings and the grass stays very healthy. With a working area of up to 400m2, lawns really can look great without the effort.
